Symptoms of a bad ABS module and how to tell if your brake computer is going bad. After 30 years in OEM auto parts, I see people misdiagnose this all the time. If your ABS light just popped on, the first thing to know is your car will stop, but you've lost your anti-like brake function, stability control, and traction control. So how do you know it's your module? You'll get the trifecta warning lights many times, which is stability, traction, ABS, all hitting at the same time. Your brake pedal might feel unusually firm under hard braking, and the speedometer could be a static or drop out due to wheel speed data loss. Module versus sensor. To know for sure, plug in a scan tool. If you pull a single wheel speed sensor code, it's just a cheap sensor. But if you pull internal chassis C codes like pump motor circuit or valve relay, that means the electronic brain inside your modules essentially cook. Do not buy a cheap aftermarket gamble. Hit the link in my bio, shoot me your make model in year or your VIN number and your trouble codes and we'll diagnose your problem right here. from cubes of HQ.
