Common questions
What does a throttle body do?
The throttle body controls how much air enters the engine. On modern vehicles it's electronic (drive-by-wire): a motor opens the throttle plate and a throttle-position sensor reports the position back to the computer. There's no throttle cable — the pedal is a sensor, and the throttle body does the work.
What are the symptoms of a failing throttle body?
Reduced-power or limp mode, a rough or hunting idle, hesitation on acceleration, and a check-engine light with throttle-actuator or throttle-position-sensor codes. Some vehicles put a specific throttle or reduced-power warning right on the dash.
Does a throttle body need to be programmed or relearned?
Often there's a throttle relearn or idle relearn after install so the computer learns the new unit's closed position — some vehicles do it automatically, others need a scan tool. If the OEM part number matches, that's usually all it takes. Message us your VIN and old part number if you want us to confirm.
Why buy a used OEM throttle body?
The correct bore, sensor, and connector matter — a tested OEM throttle body is calibrated to your engine, where aftermarket fit and behavior can be hit-or-miss. Match the OEM part number or send us your VIN. Every unit we sell is inspected and tested for functionality before listing.
