Common questions
What kinds of OEM GM parts does Hubes Hub carry?
Hubes Hub stocks a broad range of GM OEM parts across Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, and other GM brands — primarily interior electronic components, control modules, and harder-to-find items where new replacements are unavailable or expensive. Common categories for GM include:
- ABS modules and EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) units
- Body control modules and instrument clusters
- Theft Deterrent Modules and PassLock components
- Audio components (factory radios, amplifiers, displays) with THEFTLOCK
- Interior switches, control knobs, and bezels
- Clock springs, shift levers, and steering column components
Coverage varies by inventory turn — the live listing on the GM Parts collection shows what's in stock right now. If you don't see what you need, send Hubes your VIN and what you're after.
Do you carry parts for all GM brands?
Hubes Hub stocks GM parts across the major lines — Chevrolet (Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Equinox, Malibu, Impala, Camaro, Corvette, and others), GMC (Sierra, Yukon, Acadia, Terrain), Buick (Enclave, Encore, LaCrosse, Lucerne), and Cadillac (Escalade, CTS, ATS, SRX). Coverage on Pontiac, Saturn, Hummer, and other discontinued GM brands is more limited but possible — these platforms shared parts with surviving GM lines for many years.
Specific model coverage varies. The most reliable check is the live collection listing plus a VIN-based fitment check.
If your GM vehicle isn't in the current listing, send Hubes your VIN. We source from documented vehicles regularly, including older GM platforms.
Are GM factory radios locked to my vehicle?
Most GM factory radios from roughly 2009 onward are tied to the vehicle's VIN through GM's THEFTLOCK system. If a radio loses power (battery disconnect, dead battery, or installation in a different vehicle), it locks and displays "LOCKED" or "THEFTLOCK" on the screen.
Older GM radios (1990s through early 2000s) used customer- enterable codes through the radio's own buttons. Some had Delco-LOC II protection that could be unlocked with a backup code retrieved from the unit or from a dealer.
Modern VIN-locked GM radios require programming with a manufacturer scan tool or J2534-compatible programmer. Many independent shops with the right tools (GM MDI, Tech2, or compatible) can program them — it doesn't always require a dealer.
The listing description for each unit specifies what programming will be required. See the Car Audio collection FAQs for more detail on factory radio anti-theft.
How do I find the right GM part for my year and trim?
Three options, in order of confidence:
- Use the fitment checker on any product page. Enter your year, make, model, and trim. If we have your vehicle in our compatibility data, you'll see "Fits Your Vehicle" in green.
- Compare the part number. If your old part has an AC Delco or GM number, compare it to the OEM Part Number on the listing.
- Send your VIN. Many GM components — particularly radios, clusters, and module assemblies — are configured per-VIN. The fitment family covers the year/make/model; the variant lives in your VIN.

Are GM parts often interchangeable across brands within the same platform?
Sometimes — GM shares platforms across brands extensively (a Chevy Tahoe shares much with a GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade; a Buick Enclave shares with a Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia) — but the part number is the deciding factor, not the brand.
Brand differentiation often shows up in trim, badging, and interior appointments, while underlying platform components (modules, ABS units, fuse boxes) may be identical or close to identical across siblings. Always verify by part number or VIN before assuming cross-brand interchange.
